Coming from a down-to-earth Canadian background, Joni Mitchell became one of the most dazzling figures of the folk movement. As a true hippie she wrote the hymn for the summer of love – "Woodstock", which was performed by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. It turned out to be her personal summer of love also as she was involved in a love triangle with David Crosby and Graham Nash. Today is her 65th birthday. Shine on you crazy diamond!
